    Need help with pro cdi

Well got the stator installed this afternoon. I have spark with stock 650 cdi, but I still have no spark with the 99 pro cdi? Any input. Dose it matter wich coil wire goes to the blk cdi wire. As I have it wired, with the black wire going to the black wire with the white dots going into the coils. This is the only way they will plug in without cutting off wire ends and putting new wire ends on. Or is there a differance with the 99 v the 97-98?

    Thanks,
    Rodney

I am thinking I need to swap ends and wires on the cdi. Can someone confirm this. Thanks,

Rodney you have to change the wire ends or make gender changers for the coils. Black goes to Black on all three then Blk/grn to blk/w PTO, blk/or to blk/w ctr, and blk/w to blk/w mag. Radio shack sells female to female gender changers and make up some male to male or cut and change the wires.

Thanks, I wasnt sure. We ought to make a note of that in the instructions. Also some of the wireing stuff dose not match up. As I have no tan wire for the temp sensor. But I am not using it for the limp mode, I know what wire to hook up but according to the instructions it leaves it to the imagnation.

    Thanks for all the help.

Did the circuit breaker trip? Did you let the smoke out of the regulator?

Just the breaker!!! Thanks beer. Sometimes it is the easy stuff that get overlooked. I did see smoke. But seems ok. I am still not getting it to spark??? When you did the stator test, was it on a 97-98 pro, This might be the problem. Let me do somemore testing. Any input would help.

It sparked a 1999 and a Watcon programmable unit. You must have some thing hooked up wrong. All I had in the circuit was the start button disconnect every thing and try it them add to it.

Yes the one with the three pigtails goes to the coils. Make sure you do not use any of the exhaust valve wires they are the shorter ones .
