    Can't get passed 3500 RPM...HELP!

I've visited these boards for over a year but this is my first post. Unfortunately this is not how I wanted to start out!
I have a 2003 GTI LE RFI that wonít accelerate past 3500 rpm. It was running fine for 10 minutes or so then as I tried to get on plane it sputtered for a moment then stuck there at 3500, regardless of my throttle position. There are no messages on my display, no flashing lights and no beeps. The engine is running fine, it just wonít move. Has anyone had this problem before?

(The reverse lever is all the way down, the pump is clear, there is water spitting out the side so I assume itís not a cooling issue. Iím stumped.)

yeah, I checked the pump from both ends and it's clear. No vibrations or shaking so I'm positive nothing is stuck in there. So strange.

Are you using the learning lanyard by mistake? Just checking the easy stuff first. And welcome!

No learning lanyard. It didn't come with one. Could a lanyard malfunction by any chance?

Hmm...sounds like a lanyard deal to me. It's probably time for a trip to the dealer...

That is what I was afraid of. I can't stand taking anything to a dealer.

Are there any other thoughts about my situation? I'm scheduled to drop the machine off at the dealer on Thursday. I want to prevent getting ripped off as much as possible.

-Thanks to those who have replied to this thread

Man...I wish I could help you more. I do all my own work myself also...for the same reasons.

Maybe someone else more familiar with your ski will chime in.

Have you tried a different set of plugs? Check the vacuum hoses by the spark plugs as well.
