Angry Yet another item to repair - gauge cluster needed for 99 GP1200

I'm finally about to get my ski back after the debacle of melting two pistons at the end of last summer. I get a call from the shop - no power to the display. I told them last year the starting solenoid went and to check that first. They did, no problems. Apparently the trouble is the display is shot.

New one costs $500. There is one from a '97 on ebay - which I believe will work on the '99 but the guy won't verify that it actually works. Any other ideas on a source other than new for such an item?

there are a few on ebay right now.

Thay are all teh same, maybe the color is a little different.

Check that you get 12V between the red and black wires in the 4 pin plug with the engine off, and 12V between the green and black with the engine on. If you do, it's the guage. if not, it's in the electrical box.

What did you search for to find them? I searched GP1200 and then looked at everything!

I'll call the shop and make sure they know about the 12v - thanks!

that's the one I can't get the guy to verify it works or that he'll give me my $$ back if it shows up DOA!

ARRRG. Another holiday weekend without my ski. I'm getting to point where I want to just dump it and buy something new...

Is that Lillian's place? I talked to Bubba at Riva this morning an he turned me on to Lillian at Havasu watercraft connection. I've got a call in to him but it sounded like a cell phone. I'll give this link a try. Thanks!

You guys are the best - I love this forum and really appreciate the quick, willing responses.
