I got a seat shipped to me and it made it fine...the hood I ordered didn't fair so well...maybe because the seat is more forgiving???

Ship the seat the same way. 2 Home depot boxs worked when i sent mine. It was the 2 piece of a 99 slxh. The seat is alot more durable to make the trip.

The hoods usually don't fair too well, I received two broken and/or cracked units. The seats always show up with NO issues.

I packed that hood to make sure it didn't wind up like the ones I received. UPS is brutal!!!

If you are shipping flexible pieces like a hodd it needs to be packed twice. Once with cardboard and bubble wrap. Then put it inside another box with bubble wrap around it and filling up the air space in the box. If it is not double boxed you are asking for damage.

    Nice tip John!!
Now if UPS doesn't pile to much weight on top of the thing and crush the box, you'll be all right.

yeah the double box is a pretty good idea, and i had a feeling i should have done more than just one box and newspaper..oh well..

but is that the only way people have shipped the seat?
