    MFD compatibility question

    Will a MFD from a '94 SLT750 work on a '96 SLT780?

Most likely. How many pins are on the back of each? If they are the same then yes.

Thanks for the reply xlint89. I'm not sure of the pin count for either MFD's as I have not removed mine or seen the other one. I was thinking maybe a certain year or model determined the pin count.

Turns out the one I wanted to buy is round...mine is oblong. I didn't know there were two different shapes, only differents pins. Oh well, the search continues.

Yeah, I've got a couple on my watch list now. But they're 3x the amount of the round/wrong one I found.

Almost all of the 8-pin half oval MFD's are compatable with any like wired ski.
If you're referring to the round MFD, I can't answer.

Also, just as an FYI, the 12-pin plug can be removed and re-pinned in an 8-pin to accept the older MFD's, and save you the $85 for a cross-talk harness.

Yes, I know this from personal experience. And have a drawer full of 8-pins I have yet to repair.
