    Stock Ultra vs Stock RXT

(10 hrs on ski, stock ) I finally got out and raced my friends stock Sea-Doo RXT. From start to finish in flat water, the Ultra is about a hair faster than the RXT. When I say a hair, it's not even 1 boat length. It's more like I'm only 2-3 feet in front of him. I have to say that it's hard to leave an RXT in flat water.

But when the going gets rough, and if there's any kind of chop, the Ultra leaves the RXT in the dust. I mean it was incredible to see how far I would be in front of him after about a 1/4 mile in the chop.

Too bad my wife blew us both away on her Ultra. She's only about 130lbs ( me and my friend around 225lbs each ), and she was leaving us everytime. She had the biggest smile on her face because we couldn't keep up with her. That weight difference on the water really makes a big difference.

Oh yeah, one more thing. On the way in, my wifes ski started running slow. Sure enough, it was a small hose that came loose. I don't think it was an exhaust hose. It was really small in diameter and towards the top of the ski. The cheezy zip lock had wasn't tightened on it. Luckily it was visible enough to located.

My Ski stock ran a GPS 67.0 flat with 3 to 4 hours on it.
I gave my GPS to a young man on a new 07 RXT with about 7 hours and it ran a 65.4. in matching conditions.

We must just have fast RXTs and LTDs here in Baltimore. Maybe it's something in the water. The guys i ride with have gone 67+ bone stock and my RXT went 70 on freemods. Haven't seen many Ultras around either. Other than the 2 that i ride with.

I hope securing the hose does the trick for you.

What do you have to do to their plant manager, throw a rock through his window with a note on it: Tighten the friggin hose clamps! Geesh

The dealerships aren't helping either. I spoke with the owner of a local dealership about a friend's 250X that had the exhaust come loose and he said they would look into it. 2 weeks later another friend bought one and his came off on the first ride. They need to step up and fix the problem before it happens so they can pesent the customer with a quality product.

Pics of the hose that came off. It's the thin hose coming from the silver round thing. It came off from the bottom and the ski would only run at about 50 mph.
