    v-force stuffers heads up

Seems several of these VF3 plastic stuffers have been warping and causing a hard to find rpm loss of around 50-100 rpms... Wfo went through a wild goose chase and finally found the culprit... Seems it was only a 50 rpm loss untill he pulled off his riva race filter, then it became a 100 rpm loss.. We both agreed its a good idea to pull these things out and politely throw them in the shizzit can, as they seemingly never have shown their worth in several back to back tests anyway.. Induction systems such as my sonic boomer v-stacks could escalate the possibility of the v-force stuffer failure/warping/flapping with the added velocity of the incoming charge of air past them. Thats what I thought when I was trimming them. They became so weak so I trashed them.

Yes I did see #1 warped pretty good top and bottom, #2 was about an 1/8" bowed in. I feel that at high rpms, they bowed in a lot more, due to the flexibility of the stuffer.

I dont want to stir up a panic, but if you are installing new reeds, or are doing work in that area, pull them out.

I wish you would have been a little louder. I "just" installed mine a couple of weeks ago. I guess it's back to wrenching.

I feel your pain. I had to take apart and put back my carbs and reeds about 3 times before I got everything working right. I have nightmares about those 18 screws and gas/fuel lines.

Glad it's not just me that checks everything several times.

I grinded mine down thin to open them up a little
on my triple piper. I ran them a full year at 8100 rpms
and when I took them out just this last month they
were fine. And the reeds still looked brand new too.

Is there a pattern of trimmed ones warping? Or just EFI Boat? Or is it all?
