NZ Winter Enduro round one pics

With the first round of the New Zealand Winter Enduro's now run it seems the competition will be hard and fast over the coming rounds. The hype was up as claims of top speeds were being bandied around by a few stirers with one nut ball claiming his ultra 250 would be running 88mph and oh how unusual that he was a "no show".
The season opener was around two hours in duration and the first winner of the year was Mark Roscoe from on an 05 RXP with a "Piranha Parts" power up kit and Rad 4 Racing exhaust manifold, both from Ski M.D. and a Solas Prop of his own bend.
The fastest ski on the water was the SD GTX 185 of Chris Slee (CRS). He had the hammer down on the Ski M.D. supported superstock and was running away from the field for the first seven laps until a blundered fuel stop saw him leave the beach with little more gas than he came in with to run to a grinding halt at the far end of the course......SO SACK ME....Sorry Chris I promise to put in more fuel than air next round.
Other pics shown are of some of the front runners including James Taylor who cleaned up in ss last year but is running stock this year, GW on his super hybrid RXP which saw him run second even after an inpromptue swim and other craft from Lindon Gray, Team Boys Toys and Kurt Heaphy.
I hope you enjoy these shots as they are the pick of the bunch from over 400 taken by Cathie Olsen from Ski M.D. over the two hour race.
Any of these are available as prints for minimal cost from [email protected] and if you were a racer but not shown email us your race number and we will return any shots of you we have.

What a great day! What a fantastic start to the season. I would like to send a thanks out to Kevin from Ski MD for setting up a fast and reliable ski. Graham and James for the great fuel stops and a bad luck, but it'll be closer next round for sure, to CRS!

Great turn out for the first round and looking good for even bigger fields in the upcoming rounds.

and no one came to our party

Guess the thought of running mod skis at 100% throttle at 78mph in the winter has been of no interest to the US masses eh boys.......well you did real well on the weekend and we look forward to watching you again in three weeks for the next round.
