Sounds 100% to me Lugs. It's designed to run all the time the engine is running, and push button opt'd with the tether installed. Problems you look for is the bilge pump running while the engine is not running.....that then points to your reg/rectifier.

I don't think mine does. When I'm riding and know I'm getting water inside I hit the button and it comes out the back. If it was running all the time why would water pour out the whole when I push the button?

Anytime the engine is turning (starting/running), the bilge pump is energized. The rule pumps can be run dry without harm. The manual bilge button is to run the pump when the engine is off.

Sounds like you are not getting power out of your reg/rect (orange wire). When running that orange wire energizes the bilge.
