Waterbox mod and still quiet - need input

So I modded my waterbox and totally gutting the internals. It is running the stock outlet piping and resonator box. Seems to me there's no noticable difference in the sound levels, although it does sound a little (just a tad bit) throatier at about 4000rpm. I must be crazy but I love the sound of the ski without any exhaust parts (coming from exhaust manifold). It's a bit loud straight from exhaust manifold. Anyway to get it to be a bit quieter and still have similar exhaust note?

THRU HULL EXHAUST.....................My thru hull plus waterbox mod sounds like a mini offshore

Hey thanks everyone. I got finished removing that resonator and it sounds sweet! I haven't put her on the water yet, so we'll see if it gets annoying like people are saying. I am using the stock exhaust hose for this weekend and will get the thru-hull in a week or two. I'll have a good 10-15 minute ride at idle-3500rpm this weekend going out the bay, so I'll definately know if it drones too much. I'm a fan of the fountain/cigar boats' exhausts, but I doubt the harbor patrol would find that "legal" here in San Diego, but we'll see. If they don't care, it'd be sweet!

The drone is at 3k. Other than that it sounds good IMO. The thru hull has no drone at all...
