Angry Stripped SC torx - How do I remove it?

What at nightmare! I was reinstalling my SC and torquing the bolts. While torquing the bolt that is near the thermostat I stripped the head. I am figuring that the socket was not on properly. Now the head is mangled and I am unable to remove it. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what to do???

    Maybe...

Cut the head off that bolt with a dremmel...remove other bolts...pull SC...take vice grips to cut bolt and remove...maybe?

I think that is what I am going to have to do. So I am assuming that the SC housing itself is not threaded. I don't recall. Can anybody confirm this? Also, cutting the head of the bolt is going to be the easy part, what about the bottom of the head that flares out? How should I go about removing that without damaging the sc housing?

Go to your local tool store & purchase a stripped nut remover. Worth their weight in gold.

You are correct the supercharger housing is NOT threaded. If you do have to cut the head off then you may be able to use a drill bit and drill the rest of the head off. You may damage the charger flange a bit but nothing that couldn't be fixed with a small washer or something. Once the charger is off then you could try the vice grip but make sure they are super tight. You won't get but a couple of tries at it. If that doesn't work then you will have to drill the bolt out and heli-coil the hole. Good luck.

I did the same thing a couple of weeks ago. had to cut the SC'r off and send it to Jerry to have a new cover put on. I tried everything to get mine out and spent over 6 hours with no luck.

Let me guess it was the back bolt?? If that thing strips then you are in trouble. Man I was holding my breath yesterday when I was removing mine with a 1/4" wrench, and I had 2 of them to remove!!!

Sears Bolt-Out kit. I got my motor mount bolt off with it after I broke the head off.
