    Tiny Tach Commercial Questions

    I am thinking about buy one of these to replace my old regular Tiny Tach that is broken.

    Where can I find the best price?

    Do I need to look for a special one for out type of motor?

    I know the PET tach is the best but I don't want to spend that much at the moment. Does the Tiny Tach Commercial do a good job for basic needs, such as MAX rpm reading and Tuning Jetworks and EFI?

    The commercial is programable for different motors. I got mine direct from TT. http://www.tinytach.com/tinytach/index.php

    So how do you program it for different motors? Mine is reading double what it should currently...

    Pressing the select button cycles through the options. The last option is a value in degrees. My GPR uses 360*.

    The last press before degrees are displayed hold the button to go into setting mode. Release button when 360* is displayed.

    Where can you download the instructions or get a copy of them? I got one on a ski I bought and was having a lot of problems getting it to read right. I ended up following some suggestions I got here for wrapping the wire around #2 spark plug cable. I wrapped the entire red wire around the exposed area just back of the boot and it seems to read right now. I am still not sure I trust it.

    I went through 2 commercial TT's before I finally gave up. The first one just up and died within minutes. On the second, the readings would jump all over the place. Design Technology was never available to answer questions. They didn't even return emails. Basically, they just screwed me out of my money. I know the PET is more money, but well worth it IMO. I've been running trouble-free since getting a 2100 DX.

    Sorry, didn't notice.

    I bought my 2100 DX from R&D for $175. I'm not sure what they list for there, now. I bet it's lower than the $250 Riva is asking!
