    Exclamation Safety Recall Notice

Had a letter in the mail today from BRP :

"Our Records indicate that you are the owner of a potentially affected vehicle"

    Problem:

The ball studs on certain gas spring brackets may break loose, potentially resulting in personal injury or even death to the operator or bystanders !

They also say in the letter to stop using the boat and to contact your dealer to get the boat repaired I feel sorry for those that have the dealer hundreds of miles away.

Anyone else get the letter ???

    Lee

Nope I haven't seen any thing yet. I wonder if it's just an '07 thing? I'll keep watching the mail though. My dealer is about 140 miles round trip so it's not too bad.

It says model year 2007 in the letter so I guess it's just the 07 models.

I haven't noticed a problem with these either but i'll call the dealer and make sure

well I dont know what they are reffering to, but if its something that can break loose it most certainly will do so on my boat.

They are refering to the gas struts that keep open the the engine cover. One end of the strut has a ball stud that according to the letter can break off.

    I got my letter today..

Called the dealer (they knew nothing about it yet) and had to call me back... They said it was the shock bracket on the hatch.. (although the letter itself is very confusing, hell i thought it had something to do with the throttle) LOL

They had to order the update kit for me..
