Need help 62T Venture NO POWER!!

I bought this basket case '98 Waveventure for my wife. I rebuilt the engine with a fresh bore, new pistons and rings, new crank seals, and rebuilt the carbs. The engine seems to run great, starts right up, and idles fine. If I set the carbs to factory settings it stutters and bogs badly. If I run both high speed screws at 1/2 turn out it will reach a blistering 30MPH. You can't even do a doughnut or carve hard into a corner, it doesn't have the power to come out of it. I have good spark, and the pump veins, impeller and wear ring look good. There is just no mid to high rpm. What can be causing this? How about the overheat sensor? Is it normally open, or normally closed? I disabled the oil injection and put a block off plate on it. The stator timing is right on, or a hair advanced. I jumped across the oil switch so the light would stay off. Is that somehow tied to the CDI? Compression is good. What's wrong with this thing?!!

    Did you rebuild the carbs?

If they sat for a time the large diaphrams will get hard and not operate correctly. Sometimes not even letting the main circut open.

The fuel on/off valve might be clogged too. Bypass that running the main fuel line to the reserve side of the tank still using the filter. Check that too.

Yep, rebuilt the carbs and checked all the lines before putting the engine in. What does the overheat sensor do when in overheat mode? Is it normally closed or normally open?

PM an admin to see if you can get this moved over to the old school section.

When overheat is enabled, I think it limits RPMs to under 3000.
