Another newbie question
I know that Yamaha recomends using their Yamalube oil but I was wondering if any one has run any other oils with success. If there is a cheaper option that won't harm the motor that would be great. I saw a few different brands that said they meet Yamaha's specs but I figured that I would ask all of you Yamaha fanatics.

Welcome to the forum !
Many of use other oils other than Yamalube.
I would say the Majority of us probably use Amsoil as an alternative.
Alot of the GPR owners with powervalve engines use either Amsoil Interceptor or Dominator. This oil can be used either as a premix or oil injection.
Other types of oils other members use can range from Mobil 1 to KLOTZ also.
Use the search option and type in amsoil and you'll see several threads discussing this topic
