    How to remove middle layer of head gasket ?

    When removing the middle layer of the head gasket what is the best way to remove the eyelets holding them all together ?

    On a 1200, removing the middle layer of the head gasket increases compression; not sure by how much PSI though.

    yep.or i use a set of side cutters and snip the bottom side of the compression ring and they just fall out.Thats how i do mine.WFO drills his and thats also a great way to go.Ive seen 5+ lb increase in compression by removing the center gasket.

    Worked out great just had to drill the top then it came right out. I will report back what the new comp is.

    please do i have my new head gasket ready to bolt the heads back on im thinking im going to do this...

    are there any side affects from doing this?

    does it matter what heads you are running?

    Mine was bumped up 7-8 lbs same method was used for both measurements.

    Also reduces squish clearance which is equally important and beneficial as compression.
