how to tell if ski has shat the washers?

besides the obvious dorp in RPMs, lets say you going to buy a used seadoo. Is there any way you can tell if the super charger has taken a dump without cranking it up and seeing how high RPM it'll go?

Or even better... maybe it did take a dump and he just put a new SC on it without getting the pieces out... is there any way to tell, aside from pulling the motor, that the engine is fubared?

(just pretend you're dealing with a dishonest salesperson. ) I'm thinking of upgrading to a newer model, but dont wanna get it up the rump, ya know?

Pop open the intake into the SC, try to move with fingers...

if suspected SC has been replaced, look at SC and surrounding areas for WITNESS marks, meaning the bolts have been touched, the exhaust has been marked up because it must be moved to remove the SC, etc...

like danny says, take off the supercharger intake pipe and try to turn the impeller, if it spins freely with your fingers the clutch has gone, also i think the original clip holding that pipe was a none re usable hose clamp, so if its ever been removed it'll have been replaced with a standered or re usable stainless clamp, if the washers have been replaced and the ceramics are slill in the engine, ask the seller if you can inspect the oil filter (in between the pleats ) if the engine has been run for an hour or so after washer failure then there will be a lot of silvery oil pump metalics stuck between those filter pleats, failing that just look the seller right in the eyes and say ceramics ?

A cold oil pressure test might be interesting - but I don't know whether this is easy to do???
