    New ski question

Picked up a new 2007 gp1300r bout a week ago. What type of oil should have been used for set up? I would have thought yamaha 2w? But the oil looks brown? 2w is kinda blueish.

You have to use the 2W until you get rid of the cat-con and replace with a D plate.Welcome to the best PWC site on the planet.

cat-con? These things have catalytic converters? How sad... I haven't yet had time to give the innards a once over, so it's all news to me.

Why would you change oil after moving to an exhaust without a cat?

Yea, the cat is in the big exhaust pipe right on the side of the motor. The reason wny you can't run any other oil untill it is removed is because the Yamalube is designed for it.

Yank that thing and replace it with a d-plate.
