You think you have it bad
Here is the result of record rainfall this spring in Texas.Our riding options are almost nill.
5/31/07 1245 hrs
The following facilities are closed due to flooding conditions/damages:
Aquilla Lake - Boat ramps at Old School and Dairy Hill are closed.
Belton Lake McGregor, Owl Creek, Westcliff, Winkler, Leona, Sparta Valley, and Rogers Parks are closed. All courtesy and fishing docks are closed. The boat ramp in Live Oak Ridge is closed. In Temple Park - the beach, south picnic area, and Sandy Point are closed. The beaches in Westcliff, Temple's Lake, and Cedar Ridge are closed.
Benbrook Lake North Holiday Park: Hobie Point, Thunderbird Loop, Betty's Hole, and all 3 boat ramps are closed. South Holiday Park: sites 51, 69, 70, and 94 closed. 2 of the 3 boat ramps closed. If you have a reservation on these sites, contact the lake office - we can accommodate your reservation on another site. Wesctreek Circle: closed. Bear Creek Park: Sites 6, 7, and 14-18 closed. Both boat ramps closed. If you have a reservation on these sites, contact the lake office - we can accommodate your reservation on another site. Mustang Park: Swim beach, point, and creekside loop are closed. Rocky Creek Park: Campground, campground boat ramp, and a portion of the peninsula are closed. Double boat ramp is open.
Canyon Lake - All boat ramps and courtesy docks are closed except for Canyon Park boat ramp. The beach and 10 campsites in Canyon Park are closed. 8 campsites at Cranes Mill Park, Hancock Trail, the beach at Comal Park and most of Potter's Creek Park are closed
Granger Lake - Courtesy docks in Willis Creek, Taylor, and Wilson H. Fox parks are unusable. The fishing dock in Wilson H. Fox and the beach in Friendship are also closed.
Grapevine Lake - Boat Ramps in Murrell Park and Lakeview South are closed due to high water.
Lake Georgetown The beach in Russell Park is closed.
Navarro Mills - Liberty Hill: boat ramp and courtesy dock near marina are closed; sites 65 & 66 are closed; fishing pier is closed. Oak Park: courtesy dock closed; fishing pier is closed. Pecan Point: sites 1-16, 19-20. Wolf Creek: sites 42-77, fishing pier and boat ramp. Brushie Prairie: boat ramp.
Stillhouse Hollow All boat ramps, courtesy docks, and fishing docks are closed. Union Grove, Stillhouse, and Dana Peak Parks are closed.
Waco Lake All boat ramps are closed. Airport Beach area and Koehne Parks are closed. Both beaches in Twin Bridges are closed. Numerous campsites in all campgrounds are closed.
Whitney Lake All boat ramps are closed except for Lofers bend Day Use and Lofers bend West, McCown Valley, Walling Bend, and Steele Creek (red bluff side). All courtesy docks are unusable and a few campsites are closed in all parks.
The Following Facilities are Closed due to Drought Conditions and extremely low lake levels:
Town Bluff Dam, B.A. Steinhagen Lake All boat ramps and courtesy docks are closed.
Cooper Lake Johns Creek boat ramp and one ramp in South Sulphur State Park are closed.
O.C. Fisher Lake All ramps are unusable.
The Following Facilities are Closed due to Construction/Maintenance Activities:
Benbrook Lake - The horse trail in Rocky Creek Park is closed to all users until completed.
Lavon Lake Caddo Park is closed for water system repairs.
Waco Lake A portion of Airport Park is closed, including the boat ramp. Currently there are 18 RV sites, 1 Group Camp, and 10 tent sites open and soon there will be an additional 28 RV sites and 8 screen shelters.
Sam Rayburn Reservoir - Hanks Creek Park South Boat Ramp (former marina ramp) is closed due to construction.
Town Bluff Dam, B.A. Steinhagen Lake Campers Cove is closed. The East End Park fishing access at the R. D. Willis powerhouse and the east side of the floodgate discharge channel is closed; the west side is open.
Wright Patman Lake The boat ramp in Piney Point is closed.
The Following Facilities are Closed due to Storm Damage:
Town Bluff Dam, B.A. Steinhagen Lake Walnut Ridge and Cherokees Units of Martin Dies, Jr. State park are closed. Approximately half of the campsites in Magnolia Ridge Park are closed
