Cleaning case after piston failure? Best approach?

Does everyone recommend removing the crank to clean the case? Or flip the engine upside down and hose it down with Brake Clean or some chemical?

I didn't prime the oil lines after replacing them and starved the #3 of oil.

Are you pulling alot of material out of the case now? Did you lose a crank bearing or just stick a piston? If you ran that cylinder without oil long enough, there is a chance that the crank bearing is hurt, especialy on that #3 hole.Might want to check the crank. If it was a short run,you might be ok.

    Woody,

Only made it a short run. First time I hit 6500 it stuck. Ran 5-10 mins 2-3K.
