You should check the oil level. If your ski is overfilled it will loose RPM`s.
    My ski runs 7820 RPM`s.

It seems that the skis change rpm's depending on elevation. Mine runs about 7800 rpm's on the monongahela river in pittsburgh, but on the youghiogheny dam, which has a much higher elevation, it lost between 100-150 rpm's. Top speed was still within 1 mph, so that wasn't effected too much. The yough is at around 3,000 feet, while the monongahela is slightly below 1,000. What elevation are you guys riding at?

This 62mph on speedometer will actually be 65 to 67 gps numbers. So you are actually running faster than you think. I have not heard of an ultra yet that did not have a slow speedometer compared to actual speeds.

If this is true, this is very good news! Unfortunately, it is raining today so I can't get a GPS on it. I will do this early next week and report back.
