    UMI crossbar and pad.

Does anyonw know if you can buy the crossbar for the umi handlebars just by itself? I have exposed painted bars and I think this crossbar wiith the pad would look good, and be a good place to mount my GPS. Does anyone know where I can get this, and how much? Can I get it from that man Richard? Thankyou, Charlie

I think you have to buy the complete handlebar. they are only about $60 or so.

You can order online at www.umiracing.com , or contact Richard (way2fast) he may have some in stock.

They sell the pads by themselves, but not the center bar. The bar with pad goes for $49 plus shipping. I just ordered some today, but they are spoken for.

If you buy brand new handlebars, do they come with the center bar and pad? For $60 I'll do that, if it comes with the bars.

11 will disagree with me, but unless you are racing competitively and need the extra strength and smoothness provided by the UMI setup, I see no reason to use it in rec skis, even modified ones. It looks "cool and racy" but the cost is steep and the installation will probably result in the use of 4 letter words. It does do away with the thumb throttle which is a plus for some and a negative for others. If you want a price send me a message...it's been at least 24 hours since you last wrote.

I would like to understand what the bars do, move riding position forward?
are the bars the same width as the factory ones?
How does one go about sizing, when choosing new bars...?...PR...

The bars come in different sizes and shapes. Most people use the Kawi bars as they are the highest style (although probably not as high as the stock ones) They do not slope forward as much as the stock bars. Most of the bars are wider for more leverage in the turns. There is a specially made UMI switch holder designed for the RXP. Another type is available for skis like the RXT/GTX that doesn't have the trim button. It looks really clean.
