    Cdi Wiring

I own a 94 SL650 and had a stator wire burn up.. So I purchased a stator and CDI from a fellow green hulker.. The only problem I have is that the new CDI (known to work) has a harness with a few plugs coming out of it and the obvious stator wiring and positive/negative wires along with the plug wires.. My original CDI box just has the positive neg cables, temp sensors, stator wires, and the plug wires coming out of it.. Does anyone know if I can tie in the electrical from my ski into the harness that has the plugs on it. Any info would help.. my ski doesnt have a MFD nor trim.. just a fuel gauge.. Thanks ahead of time..

Do you think that I could just wire in the stator to my old cdi box? or do you think they went out in a pair? Thanks
    Mike

I don't think the 92or 93 will work. I know a 94 and newer will with no problem.

think I should just give it a go with the new stator plugged into the old box? Do you think that it will burn the stator if the box is fried?

Just take the parts out of the 92 box and install into your box. I tested both the CDI and the Stator before shipping. If you want to go a different route I will take the 1992 setup back as long as you do not hook it up.

The cdi on the 92 has the wires coming off with the connectors.. Thats my only question.. I think Im going to give the new stator a shot with the original cdi.. see what happens..

Beerdart, if you have a 94 and newer I'd love to swap it out.. I wont hook it up or anything. I ended up having to take the engine out cuz them screws that hold the stator on were just strippin.. I ended up finding stainless allen bolts to go in their place.. worked out nicely..
