You can use aftermarket as many here do. There has been many threads in regards to oil. Do a search and you'll find a lot of info. For the oil filter you can buy them on jerry's store

or source them on your won referencing the same part no.
For plugs some people use Denso IXU27.
Personally I use the BRP oil, albeit more expensive, the NGK plugs, and the K&N filter.

Here is an option for you on oil. Ther preferred customer price is about the same price as the BRP petroleum oil. Prices listed are retail. 10W-40 AMSOIL Synthetic Marine Oil http://www.amsoil.com/redirect.cgi?zo=367509&page=storefront/wcf

Save up to 35% off retail prices, by becoming a preferred customer.

How much modding would be considered "modded"? Stage 1? Or does it have to be at least a forced induction upgrade like a supercharger wheel upgrade? Should I go with the Denso IXU24 or 27?

I have the followingon my 06' RXT:

    - Ceramic S/C bearing upgrade
    - Jerry's metal S/C washers
    - Completely gutted and shortened water box
    - Riva Top-Loader intake grate
    - 2 Degree wedge
    - OPAS removed and blocked off
    - SS wear ring

Top speed before water box gutting and shortening was 70.2mph with fulll tank of gas in saltwater bay.

I would say you really don`t have enough to go with a colder plug like the 27`s. More boost, more RPM`s = more heat. a colder plug is one way of dealing with helping prevent detonation.
there are many topics here on plugs.
Nitro shark has a good thread in the Honda forum. as does RX951 somewhere here. The discussions get technical on the why`s and hows and when to use dif heat range plugs...PR...

It depends on how much you pump out of the engine when doing the oil change. If your changing oil and filter I am usally able to pump out 3 Quarts and 14 ounces so thats what I put back in 3 1/2 quarts. Make sure you run the engine for a minute on the hose and then check the oil after you turn off the egine and make sure the oil is in-between the top and bottom marks on the dipstick.
