    Pro 1200 Accelerator pump

    Hi Guys,

Can anyone help me I have a 2000 Pro 1200, it has always been very reliable but I fired it up after a long winter in the garage and it fired up okay but I noticed that the accelerator jets were not producing any fuel.

I have checked that fuel is getting to the correct areas and everything seems fine, the only thing I can think of is that the accelerator pump is broken.

Does anyone know if this is a common falt with Keihin carbs as I have owned the ski for 3 years and always run fine.

As a pre-caution I have ordered a Keihin carb rebuild kit ,does anyone know if this kit comes with parts to rebuild the accelerator pump, and is it easy to do.

I was reading the thread posted by the guy who has both pro 1200 and pro 785 he also has a 2000 pro 1200 - what are the benifits of upgrading to 2001 parts?

    Cheers,

    Dan

Ball checks in the nozzles could be stuck.
Or the acc. pump diaphram is cracked. check em both.

Sometimes The Pump Chamber Dries Out And Its A Little Tough To Get It To Refill,if You Watch The Cam That The Accl Pump Shaft Rides On You'll See It Does Compress All The Way,i've Take A Long Flat Blade Screwdriver, put It Between The Cam And Shaft And Compressthe Dia All The Way Like That And Had Several Of Them Start Pumping Again

    Hi txpro1200,

I have just tried pumping the acc pump, if I pushed the rod all the way in they started injecting but not 100%, after trying that the only thing I think it could be is the diaph is cracked as the carbs are functioning fine.

Do you know where I could buy a rebuild kit for the acc pump?

    Cheers for your help,

    Dan.

Wait Until You Get It To The Water, leave It Running On The Trailer And Try Repeating What I Mentioned Above.my Virage Tx Does This Over The Winter Or Anytime Its Been Sitting For 3 Weeks, but The Pump Always Comes Back As Starts Working Normally, only So Much Fuel Fills The Jet Chamber,so When The Pump Suxs It Out It Starts To Draw Air,thats Why When Its Running It'll Fill Both Chamber, you Could Probably Just Ride It And It Would Straighten Out

If I try the ski and the acc pump doesn't work will I be alright to use it.

I know it will bog down on acceleration, but am I right in thinking that the mid to high jets will kick in.
