    MFD won't turn off

I know I read a thread somewhere on here about this same problem but I came up empty with the search function.

Aren't they supposed to turn off after 5 minutes of inactivity? I got mine working tonight by replacing the fuse. I set the clock to 8:35 and shut her down. Just took the dog out and the MFD is showing 10:25. The engine hours are still the same and battery is at 12.3v.

Thats normal. Its goes into "sleep mode" after 5 minutes but the clock will still show the time. The LCD clock draws very little and would take a very long time to drain the battery.

I am planning on putting a toggle switch on the ground wire, so for winter storage I can turn it off compleatly.

Whew!! I thought rain drops were starting to fall on my parade. So even if it were in tach mode when shut down the clock would appear?

You don't pull your battery? Or do you use a trickle charger?

Whack it with a hammer a few times. It will turn off.
