    blown motor

the reason i did this my self is that my dealer purchased some 250xs from the usa. we got them 2500 cheaper than retail. if we want warranty on them they would have to be shipped back over to that side. it would take months and we have a short season here. the seals that blew where the oil pan, front o ring, and valve cover gasket. i personally think it was because the 2 vents on top were closed off. i now an running a breather on there. the gaskets were only 300 plus i picked up a manuel. i was down tuesday and back on the water friday. i dont wish it on anyone and hope it doesnt happen again.

Hmmm, looks like all the people who called you a "clown" and a "troll" owe you an apology. Let's see if they're man enough.

    Wink

Your still my new hero Joe.
I can understand why you would rather do it yourself.
So did you ever find out why it blew out all 3 seals.
Did you pull the head, or any main or rod caps while you had it out and apart.
Did you find any internal damage.
Did you reinstall the V/C air vents.
I have been running block-off plates for 10 hours and have had no problems. Without verification of why this happened, it could happen again.
    Keep us posted.
I think your statements are doubted so much because your posts are very infrequent. You had me wondering if you actually had a ski or not.
Sorry for the doubt. Thanks for the pics and info. Good luck with your ski too.

Joeprice, I and am sure others are interested to hear how you established "it started heating up", where the oil was "pissing" from, and how you determined it was "overboosting".

    YO JOE......
    You are the man.
I apologize for poking so much fun at you.
Most people (including myself) thought your story was a lot of BS.
I can now understand your reason for doing what you did.
