    Nitro what is your opinion of this controversial breakin procedure?

    yes/no/or maybe when you get a minute to scan it pls.. I dont know enough about engine building and wear to form an opinion.

    While you're waiting for Nitro's response I can tell you that A. Graham Bell who wrote several books on tuning 2 and 4 stroke's (he and Jennings are considered to have the two best books on 2 stroke tuning) recommends a procedure just like this. Bell's recommendation was written long before "Motoman's".

    maybe he's right, it makes sense...that guy looks crazy enough to blow up fell motors here and there and i also herd that before.

    I’ve seen that years ago. There are some things I agree with and others I don’t.

    Being a engine maker not just a builder, I machine my billet motors to the application and they are ready to race immediately.

    For store bought motors I just put them though a few heat cycles before loading them fully. Start idle a few minutes and run to 7/8 WOT for 7-8 sec on the Dyno to seat rings. Stop cool then do again 3X.. Change oil and run dyno full pull test… If HP is what I want I put motor in ski/bike/car.

    Now go try a break it. Repeat and start over.
