Thread: Boost controller???

I am picking up my ski in a few hours and I havent looked at the engine and turbo set up, but has anyone used a manual boost controler? Is the waste gate opened by vacum or is it eletronic? Just thinking here, as I have a couple of MBC laying around.

a MBC will work, its just tricky to set up soo you dont over boost. SuperJim did it in 02 and even sold a few kits. you will still have a RPM limiter kicking in at 6500-6600 RPM which will limit you.
I took a different approach and tossed the ECU and ignition system soo i can control all aspects of the tuning and boost. I installed a totally programmable ECU and CDI ignition. it will run any motor up to 16 cylinders 2 or 4 stroke so i will use it for other application if i sell the ski later.

Shawn.....how about a lower cost kit whereas the stock ecm is modified to allow an increase in rpm and your valve springs.

i looked at “piggy back ECU’s and I found at dealers cost of $900 still didn’t control the RPM limit. Things like MagaSquirt an other ECU’s were to much trouble for me so I decided to go with the top tuning software and ECU. I can use it to run any motor and not just this Honda application.
EFI control is what it is all about along with complete ignition control and boost

Yes...I understand the flexibility of your kit, but it's far beyond my needs. Isn't there some way to circumvent the rpm limiter/map in the stock computer?
