    D plate help on 00 gpr

    guys looking at my buds ski in my garage its a 1200 2000 gpr..

    there is no cat temp sensor so is there a d plate fitted from factory as i can see from side profile what looks like a d plate...

    if so can it be opened up or should it be left stock..

    Put a 4 stroke in it and just be done .

    thanks bud...your a trouble shooter/builder for a well known race team and thats the best you come up with...us boyz are staying 2 stroke for now..

    Yeah, most the 2000s sold outside the US had D-plates in them. The opening is the same size as the Riva D-plate.

    Salty,
    all 2000-2001-2002 Euro Spec Gpr 1200's had factory d-plates.
    American gpr1200's had cat cons from 2000. They also had different jetting specs to the export models.
    We only got the cat-cons when the skis went to 1300 fuel injection.
    As smackwave said-Riva's d-plate is a copy of the Yamaha one- R&D's plate has a smaller opening-more back pressure-should mean slightly higher rpm's
