    2007 RXP Problem! Please Help

    Hi

I picked up my new RXP two weeks ago and now have 8 hrs on it. Today I was having fun jumping waves when all of a sudden the machine started making a a wierd sound.

I noticed that at idle the machine rides normally but when I hit the gas the revs go up but the machine doesn't speed up. Something is slipping!

    Any ideas?

    Tanks in advance
    Eric

you probably have or had a rock or a stick in the pump. Is it still making that chatering noise?

Wave jumping Supercharged washers maybe gone. Every time you come out of the water by jumping wave your jet ski hit the red limiter. That is not a good thing.

yes it is still making the sound. Is it possible something is stuck?

Everything looks clean. Nothing seems to be in there.

Exactly what does it do? RPM's etc. If something is in the pump you would have to pull it to inspect it. You can't just look in the nozzle.

Let's say that I am at Idle and I give it some gas the engines rpms go up (engine is noisier than the usual) but the ski doesn't accelerate very fast.

    Mu pump might be blocked.

And it vibrates correct? Something is lodged in the pump putting a huge gouge in your wear ring.

it's the sound that he is describing that leads me to believe (along w/ wave jumping and new boat) that the engine is slightly forward and the splines are slipping at the impeller when given any throttle.....let me guess....sounds normal at idle, stripping spline noise when given any throttle. If this is so, u need to loosen all engine mounts and move engine rearward (1/4 inch is PLENTY). Hope this helps

Get a flashlight and climb under your trailer, shine it into the impeller pump area, inspect the impeller area for sticks, small chunk of wood, even a very small one can create the problem you are having, I've had this happen twice; one on the Yamaha, once on the RXT. They are easy to miss; you may have to take the grate off to see it.

If you can't find anything let your dealer worry with it.
