How to stop storage for leaking water?

I moved the washer on the main storage (with the fire extinguisher) to stop hood vibration but it didn't help much in helping me seal the storage area. I am so tired of empty out water after every ride. Any suggestion on fixing this problem?

Yes, you can get an adjustable hood latch like the ones for the seat so you can lower it more. Why they didn't put an adustable one up front I don't know!

If anyone looks at the seal SD uses on the GTX (up to 2006 model year...(2007 are POS and need a waterproof bow container) you will see that the Kawi seal design is lacking. The SD has a low profile rubber seal gasket on the bottom of the hood that locks into a ribbed channel on the hull. This keeps all the water out. Kawi uses a tall flexible rubber gasket on the bottom of the hood that will "bend" and be pushed over when water pressure is exerted on it, causing the water to flow into the storage compartment. With the nose heavy ride at idle speed water is constantly washing over the Ultras bow and leaking into the storage area. Poor design on Kawasaki's part that probably will never be corrected. You need a "dry bag" to protect stuff that can't get wet.
