    Gas leaking?! help!

    Hey guys,

My 95 SL 750 sits in the sun, and when I came home just now I found my cover was all wet and my ski was soaked with gas!!!! I have rinsed everything off (ski isn't on the water) and found out it is hissing from what seems to be a small vent near the handlebars when you open the hood. it's on the port side of the ski, it looks like there's another one on the starboard side for the oil tank. I checked all hoses and everything seems to be good there. even my SLX sits in the sun and it doesnt do this......can anyone help?!

Check the vent check valves on top of the tank. One is air in and one is air out. Is your tank overfilled?

I have never heard a hiss but the tank will pressurize to approx 1-2 psi. as that is the cracking pressure of the out cv. My 4 SL's sit outside in the sun with full tanks and have never had a fuel spill like yours??

yeah my hoses weren't routed properly. I believe it's just the relief vent letting out the extra pressure that I hear. no fuel spilled now!

I would check out which hose is routed to what. If you have your main bottom pick up routed to the vent, then the pressure from the heating air could push the fuel all the way up to the top of the vent. I do sometimes hear hissing from my vent, when it sits in the sun, or after fueling it up.
