2003 yamaha gpr riva stage 1

Hi guys, just bought a gpr with a stage one kit and I noticed at part throttle the engine sounds rich. Is this the breed of the beast or do I need a tune up? It idles perfect and runs perfect wot (64.4 gps, full tank of fuel, 200 lb rider and about a 6-8 inch chop) Any thoughts would be appreciated, Donald

    What is it doing ?

You have a controller on it ?

It's running rich at about 4000 rpm, kinda fills up if you run her at that speed. It does have the controller, but I don't know much about it. Teach me, Donald

Try to eyeball it and tell me where it is set... or take a picture of the face and post it.

Sounds like you need to move the crossover up a little.

Ok, I'll try to do it the first of the week, very busy weekend. Thanks for the help, Donald

Here's a couple pics I took of the EFI Controller. Is it the lites that tell you the settings or is there something that I can't see? Donald

Tried calling you earlier Rich but there was no answer. I will try again tomorrow. Is there agood time to call? Ok, once I figured out that the controller was velcroed in, I was able to pull it out and get a good look at it. Here's the settings. With the lites on the top, green is set at 1, yellow is set at alittle over 6, red is set at 11 and rpm is set at 3. I am at sea level with air temp from 70 to 80 and water temp at 60 to 70. Thanks, Donald
