Thread: Cracked case!

Take a look... I think my case is cracked.. The damage is in front of the #1 cyl. under the exhaust.
What the hell could have done this?

So now the question is... Where do I get a short block?

That sucks !
I would go ahead and pull it out, break it down, and access the damage.
Something may have come loose under the ft cover.

I have a set of cases for sale if your interested.
I may have a short block motor in a few weeks.

How much for the cases? The crank, pistons, are all in great condition! Just a cracked case and a locked up starter. Will you sell just the top half of the case?

the cases are a matched set you really shouldn't separate them

woild it be possible to get them welded?

Break your motor down and strip the paintfrom the area. Eval the damage internally?? Then have the crack tested with dye. Then have a good welder fix it. 50-150 depending on the the welder and complexity
