    Crank Carnage *Picture*

You can refer to this thread to see how this whole mess started and what the problem ended up being:

    http://greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=26801

It wasn't until I was about to put the motor back together that I found it was the crank. Because the break area is jagged the two parts still had a hold on each other and thats why the motor would turn without plugs in and also why it would turn by hand.

When under a load (plugs in) the two parts backed off each other causing the #1 crank journal to drop down just enough to make contact with the case wall and jam the motor up.

I've been through batteries, cdi's, wiring, starters, starter relays, bendix, etc etc and I am so glad to finally know the problem even though it is an expensive one.

On another postive note, I now know the in's and out's of the GPR motor to a "T". Every piece of my motor is sitting in the garage, it looks like a f'ing metal scrap yard .

    Anyway, on to the carnage!!!

Ouch! Good news is that's rebuildable at a reasonable cost, and from what I can see your crank looks to be in pretty good shape for a 2000. Get it rebuilt, trued, and welded, and end up with a better ski for it!

Dang Jon, that sure sucks bro. We should be good to go on Sunday, looking good so far buddy. So I am sure we can get that motor back together and in the hull on Sunday.

Yeah, I did. I'll get this one rebuilt if I can and have it as a back-up.

Sounds good man! Hoping the crank gets here in time. Might call and have the shipping sped up.

This is what a RAD non-charging flywheel will get you.
