Thread: KDS Software

Whom has the KDS Software and all 3 cables the SM recommends?
Could you do a little write up that goes beyond two sentences that indicates this is a diagnostic tool and gets loaded on your laptop and plugs into the 250 harness? Maybe post some screen shots?

Software will help with finding issues with the motor and sensors.
It in itself is not so laid out and simple.
Helped me find a heat sensor issue that I was at fault forbut other then that I have not had to use it much.

- The software is a diagnostic tool allowing you to run tests which go further than the feature offered in the self-diagnostic mode on the ski itself.
- The cables are the same for all the Kawasaki bikes, atv's and skis with electronic fuel injection, but the signal converter is needed for the skis in addition to the other cables.
Note that on the Kawi skis a self diagnostic mode is accessible through the display (dealer mode) anyway. In this case, the extra features the KDS software gives you are the ability to run separate tests - you can run a test on every sensor, but most important - you can check the work of the injectors idividually, and I think the fuel pump as well.
As an addition, the post 2006 versions of the software have a separate diagnostic mode for the ABS brake systems on the bikes. I don't know if the ABS cable is part of the package, though.
In short - the KDS is a very nice software, but I wouldn't say the it's that much needed for a ski - they have a pretty good self diagnostic mode too.
Hope that helps
