    Fried Electrical Polaris MSX 140

    Help,

Not paying attention, I hooked up the battery positive to negative. Stupid. I blew the 15amp fuse. I replaced it with the same but now everytime I press the start button the fuse blows right away. Any ideas on where I should start looing for the short. I have not been able to find anything yet.

    Please help this idiot out!!

    Thanks!

sounds like you fried the starter solenoid. disconnect the plug to the starter solenoid and put you lanyard in and jump the solenoid and see if it starts. i bet you cooked it. we have them in stock. give us a ring. good luck. it could be a bad voltage regulator but check this first.

If you find the problem is the solenoid I'd still replace the regulator as well, it's time is probably going to be short lived.

I would save $ on that regulator and see first if it is just the solinoid. Unless it is the new triple outlet voltage regulator, its an upgrade.

    Hard to miss.
Be sure to verify the battery fuse is also in good working order.
I will tell you though 99% of the time you reverse polarity on the battery you will replace the voltage regulator within a years time.
Kind of one of those pay me now or pay me later type of things.
If nothing else, check you charging voltage to the battery after it's running. If you have an unexplained battery drain, or things don't seem quite right electrically you'll know where to look first.
