Just an idea I had.
Has anyone swapped in a 2005+ ecu into a 2003-2004 1300r? Was there a gain? I know the power valves wouldn't work but you could go with the gas valves.
Reason why I thought of this is because the rumor awhile back was the extra hp yamaha gave the 2005+ was from the ECU fuel mapping.

Anyone have a 2005 ecu and gas valves laying around? They should try this on a 2003 or 2004 and see what happens. I bet there is gain but not sure how much.

i don't know if it will work on the 03 model because it has a air temp sensor on the air box were the 04 and up has it built in with the baro sensor.

Might be thinking too deep at this point in time but seriously someone should try this on a 2004 and see what happens. I would try it but I don't own a 2005+ ski or gas valves.

Thinking is good Chris that is how we get faster ski's. That's what makes this forum so great.

I have been thinking about the same thing. but just backwards...
Take my 05 and put ported big bor jugs on it and some gas valves. That with the better fuel map and more timing should be a hoot to ride. But I just would worry it would be too much on top end...
