'07 Speedster 150 215 HP in shop already

I have 3 hours of break-in on my new 07 Speedster 150 supercharger. I have been breaking it in easy with no more than 3/4 speed however we did hammer it for 5 to 10 seconds. Max speed was at 43 MPH. After 3 hours of riding (over three weekends) it cavatates at take off. We looked at the impeller and there is no dings, however, the wear ring is worn out. The dealer suggested that we have been riding though sand or mud since it must be soft enough to not ding the impeller but gritty enough to wear the ring out. Can this be a manufacturer problem? Cost to fix is $200 which isnt bad, but I don't want this to continue. I should go with a stainless steel ring but for now the dealer is replacing it with the stock ring. Has anyone else had this problem?

It is a easy fix, you can do it in about a hour yourself. The wear rings wear out fairly fast in the boats and ski's. I would just go ahead and do a SS ring.

    Here:

Very simple Just remove your pump and put in Freezer for 1 hour the plastic ring will slide right out.

Place your new SS ring in freezer aswell for a hour and then slide right in. Replace pump.

no photos yet, as soon as it gets out of the shop. Check out www.sea-doo.com and take a look for yourself. I have the red and black 150 Speedster 215 HP with tower under the musclecraft section. Finally had to get a boat after having two 3-Ds.
