    ocean WOT range

looking to do a 62 mile ride in the pacific ocean riding primarily at WOT. i am going to do some of my own testing but my biggest concern is fuel. will a stock 250x make it on one tank? fuel extender? i know people are reporting longer distances than this on one tank but how far at WOT? any info would help.

    someone doing the LB2Cat?

as for fuel economy it depends on ocean conditions, currents, really any number of things. i'd say it's do-able

looking at either doing race support or entering the stock class. gas is a big concern. if i cannot make it to catalina and back on one tank that would put a large damper on a decent race. most likley being mid summer in so cal we wont have very adverse conditions
by the way that was some good work putting 62 miles to be the LB2Cat

thanks for the site i have looked at this before but that was before my friend invited me to do this event. many good resources here. still nothing on u250x consumption in race situations. i think i will do some poen ocean testing of my own. possibly with spare gas. does anyone know abt problems with running this ski dry and refueling at sea?

I have run mine completely out, I have the R&D fuel extender, I ran 82.6 miles before I couldnt go any futher, I had run it pretty hard, Id say 30-40 miles WOT, and a lot of 6500 to 7200 rpm time.I carried 2 extra gallons, It fired right back up after putting fuel in.Hope this helps. And good luck

82.6 huh that is very inspiring. i think i will do the fuel extender just as a saftey. nothing like running out a mile from shore. is this legal in stock class.? it seems like it would be because it is not a performance upgrade. what about the pump wedge?
