    msx110 temp light on

Got the motor in my msx 110 and started it up. It fired right up and it ran good, reved right up. Shut it off to check the oil and coolant level then i restarted it. My check engine light came on and my temp symbol was flashing. It also wouldnt rev up at all just idle. What do you think happend? Temp sensor? There is a sensor near the top of the exhaust, does anyone know what that is? When i was running the motor i unpluged the blue wire from this sensor and the motor reved right up.

yeah that is your exhaust temp sensor. they go bad from running the engine too long without water(they get cooked and give false readings). replace with a new one but please verify that the exhaust is not getting too hot(dripple some water on the exhaust manifold when running the machine in the water. it should not sizzle). also i would pull the pump nozzle off and make sure that the screen is clean not clogged with weed or stones. if all is good call us for a sensor. we have them in stock and they are easy to change.

Thanks for the reply Jay. I probably did run it to long. Is there a way to hook up a garden hose to the motor so it doesnt get hot? or do i have to just put it in the water? Thanks!

ok i got a sensor and installed it. Ran the unit for about ten seconds and my check engine light came on but there wasnt any symbols flashing. How do you get rid of this or why is the light on?
