    tachometer install Q

I bought a Polaris tachometer for the 94 SL 650/750 conversion. I'm trying to install it and am stumped where this thing hooks up. The tach has a solid yellow, a solid black, and a solid orange with a bullet connector on it. I put the yellow and black on the board where they should mount. This "Y" I cannot figure out. Help please, the schemtaics don't show anything for a tach hook up, even for the MFD.

Yellow is for the tach signal?
    Black is ground
Orange is the power up the tach once the engine is running?
If you have the LR23 in your boat (not sure on the 94) I'd install that "T" inbetween the orange wire going from the LR23 to the board and then attach the orange wire from the tac into the bullet connector on your yellow "T".

The directions don't state which is the tach pick up and which is the power supply to your aftermarket tach?
I'm thinking I might have the colors wrong.

Thanks Al, one problem though, the "T" has a male bullet connector (prob goes intom the orange female bullet) a male spade connector, and a female bullet connector (this is the one I can't figure out, beacuase there are no other bullet connectors available to use. The tach kit is dated 1/07/94 and it's going into a 94. I thought it would be a plug and play, not having to change connectors or anything.

It's a Polaris factory kit #2871102, not aftermarket. Therefore there were no instructions included.

Can you stick it in between the stator and CDI?? That is where the male female bullet connectors are.

So I have it right but why would it need the jumper if you can plug the yellow wire straight onto the board??
Answer, because on the 93 you don't have the board with the extra spade to attch the yellow tach wire.

One call to a highly respected moderator and we have RPM readings!!!! Thanks Al. It is not a plug and play kit, I clipped the male spade and added a female spade, eliminating the female bullet connector. Plugged the Orang to orange, yel to yel and black to black. That's it. Gonna try and tune this in with the tuning tips for girls, hopefully the 100 main jets are big enough. If not I have to jump to 112.5's (that's all I have left available in my possession) and change them while at the lake.
