Rubber Hood Bumper
On my 785 there is a rubber block that prevents the hood from opening too far.
What kind of glue do you need to use on that thing to get it to stay? I have tried marine sealant but I dont think that is strong enough. At the same time I think a glue that is flexible is important...maybe not?
Just epoxy the thing?

I epoxied mine but be sure to prep the surfaces, I actually "dig" though the paint.

Mine came off once too.
I used a two part, mix together epoxy and it hasn't moved since.

Mine has a nylon strap that runs from the underside of the hood and mounts back by where the oil tank used to be. Works awesome. I took my rubber thing and spring out, just use the strap.

I bought some plastic spacers from the hardware store and used a threaded rod thru the hindge to hold it in. It now holds the hood open and also holds the mount in. I will post some pics tomorrow when i get home so you can see what i did.

That would be great for the pics, I would love to see how to hold the hood open.

Sorry it took so long to post pics. You can see where i moved the rubber to, this with the plastic isolation spacer holds the hood open.
