    GP1200R dead throttle in mid-range....anyone?

I have a 2000 GP1200R that I recently pulled the motor outta to repair a starter issue it has had since I bought it in June of last year. After repairing it and shoving the motor back in I took it out for a test ride last week. All went well except one little problem. As I am scooting along at about 1/3 throttle, at say around 30-35 mph, I can then pull on the finger throttle as much as 1/2" to 3/4" and not get any response. Past 3/4" it will jump forward. In other words I have a dead spot in my throttle that I didnt have before I pulled the motor. Anyone have any ideas? Before you answer that I have to tell you that when I pulled the motor I also removed the oil pump so I could go to pri-mix. From what I can see all three of the plugs are still on. I also removed the intake cover assembly and installed prok spark arrestors.

    Anyone have any ideas???

    thanks

    JD

Put the stock air box back on or rejet! Do not run the FA's without rejetting.

Hey Rocketman are you telling me that by replacing the intake box with filters will cause my motor to seize? Is that what your saying? I want to be real clear about this. I really didnt want to put more cash into this one, but if there is a chance it could blow up from this I would like to know about it.

and what is a rave valve?

    thanks

Havoc listen to the Guys a rejet is necessary if you have removed the stock air box and removed the catcon you are definitely running lean time to rejet and bring those carbs up to date.

Change needle and seat to 1.5 and 95 gram (Dull Silver) spring
change the low jets to 110
change the highs to 120 if you keep the choke plates 125 if you remove them
remove or disable the accelerator pump.

Oh CRAP!!!!!!! I really hate messing with carbs!!!! I havent had very good experience working on them in the past. Seems like I never get them quite right and am always having to adjust them. Maybe I'll just put the old intake box back on.... Hope I havent thrown it out.

    Crap
