    ceramic bearing failure !!!!!!

    after only 8 hrs my cermanic bearings failed on my rxp

    hmmm.....did u do the install....maybe at some point 1 was dropped or forced?

    mitch411 put them in, they were put in right

    riva s3 s/c total loss fins in riva i/c bent over cant find 4 bearings, motor out & comming apart tomorrow, flywheel teeth r missing guess where they went, oil pumps r shot not a pretty sight motor lock up from s/c failer & wouldn't turn over

    motor shout off & would turn over took the air intake off 2 check the s/c u could c s/c fan parts in the air intake & in the i/c + u could move the fan around

    I have been talking to Mitch about this. No, they were not put in right as Mitch did not heat up the housing before trying to insert the bearing. As per the manual, you are supposed to apply heat to the SC housing before trying to press in the rear bearing. If you don't it puts too much stress on the outer race of the bearing causing bearing damage and premature failure as you have unfortunately seen.

    Sorry this has happened to you, but proper bearing installation is vital to ensure a bearing that will live a long time.
