    93 sl650 fuel problems

When I run the ski at full throttle it goes about 150 yards then acts like it
runs out of fuel. I choke it and is starts right back up. I installed a new triple outlet fuel pump but it still acts the
same. Engine starts very quickly and idles great. Runs good up to about
half thottle then any thing above that it looses power and dies.
    Any suggestions

Did you replace ALL the fuel lines, fuel shut-off valve and clean the carbs?
Have you performed plug chops and/or piston wash to verify how you're running?

    Check the fuel filter?

I checked the filters in the carbs and they were clean. I added an inline filter before the primer ball, ran SEAFOAM through the system but no change.
What is a plug chop and piston wash? How hard is it to rebuild the carbs?

It's not hard to rebuild carbs. Have you rebuilt or replaced the fuel pump? Did you change or check the pulse line going to the fuel pump from the block? Did you remove the auto co ck? Fuel selector valves are notorious for restricting fuel flow. A plug chop ans piston wash are both checks of the engine's internal burning characteristics. They are used to see if you're running, rich or lean on each individual cylinder. There are good descriptions of both in the tech section.

I installed a new triple outlet fuel pump about a month ago but no difference.
I am planning to change the fuel lines and check the fuel shut valve tommorow.
What is the auto cock and what doesit do?

It's an auto fuel shut off that didn't work too well. Polaris sent out a bulletin telling people to just remove it. It looks like a mini fuel pump, usually mounted next to the fuel pump. If you have one, ditch it and cap the hose real good.

Lay(mount) the 3 output fuel pump in the bottom of the ski , mine would not work in the original postion.

Oh my, 1993 model.... DEFINATELY check the fuel shutoff valve. Make sure that your "air in" check valve for the gas tank is working too.
