    Interesting comment from Franco Dettori on wear rings

    wear ring problems are caused by 2 things...Pump flex in stock pumps and the front motor mount is too flexible...It causes play in the driveshaft wich in tern translates all the way back into the impeller..The new front mount stops wear ring issues in his boats.
    I guess i'll add this to the list of things i need to buy.

    Franko... I know your smart BUT, you forgot to mention the OEM bearing setup leaves alot to be desired, Bearings 1" apart do not properly hold the shaft and therefore the impeller and tolerances to the wear ring, BRP has done much better in the past with less HP.

    Has anybody installed a front motor mount? It looks pretty easy to get to, but how difficult is it to replace? Do you have to undo the rear mounts too and lift the motor, or?

    Vern, Easy, loosen front mount from hull and motor, lift and replace. DO NOT loosen rear mounts unless you have an alignment toool.
