    Steering cable on Extended Pump?

What's the quick fix for the too short steering cable on the SL650 with an extended pump? I know long term I should get a longer cable, but I'd like to take this thing to the lake in an hour!

I made an extended trim rod out of some 10-32 stock. Is there something easy like that for the steering rod?

Thanks for the help! I whittled this up while I was waiting for suggestions. Basically a coupler made out of 3/8" aluminum round stock.

Forgot I had a lathe from my stillborn "laser alignment" project back over the winter!

Sorry for the poor quality of the pic's; cheap Chinese knock-off digital camera.

Missed my deadline for the lake, the high speed test will have to wait until tomorrow.....

Not a bad job. Should be solid enough, and a hell of a lot cheaper than the 75 bucks i just paid for mine.

Yes, I did miss my deadline for the lake. Oh wait, you meant... Oh sorry, never mind.....

Who wants to talk about my new pump?

Cool! They also sell coupler nuts for this purpose that get locked in place by a std nut on each end too bad you missed the lake

    But you probably knew this

Yeah, I knew something like that existed, but I live in the middle of nowhere, even finding anything metric, aluminum, or stainless in this town is a challenge! If I need something quick, I gotta make it

Speed test will be posted tomorrow! Or possibly S.O.S., if my homemade coupler lets go, and I get stranded.....

Did you wanna talk about my new pump?
