    Prop Pitch Questions

Can anyone give me the distance for the two items in the picture. First pic is the distance from the top of the prop to the top of the blade tip. Second pic, is the distance from the end of the blade to the end/base of the prop. I need the values for both the stock prop and the Solas 14/19. I'm trying to verify the pitch of my props since the highest I seem to be getting with a Riva stage1 is 7850rpms with the stock prop and 7700roms with the 14/19. Thanks a lot for the help!!

John, bend your prop up 2 mm on the trailing edge (measure like you are doing in the second pic)

Then your RPM's will be 8100

Woah, that was quick. Which prop do I bend? The stock or 14/19? Can you also give me the basis which pitch I need to follow, since the pitch on each blade are different from one another. That's for both of my impellers.

I have yet to install my Riva IC, just want to get the revs right before I drop in the Stage2. By the way, that Riva thermostat was a pain in the...to install, specially that securing collar!

    Thanks for the help!

JohnD... after you put the Riva IC in, your RPMs wil cahnge yet again... so it's kinda of pointless to bend the prop oneway for a half install, then complete the install and bend the prop again

Jerry will definitely say to use the Solas 14/19 ... forget the stock prop

and each blade should not measure differently... if they are, the prop is out of whack and that may be the cause of your RPM loss alone.... bend the prop so that each blade is identical

John, install your intercooler and then note your RPM's and pitch accordingly.

    Jerry,
I would still need the distances in my first post. I don't know which blade I would use as a reference for me to raise or lower the trialing edge. The trialing edges are all different. Thanks!!

John, unfortunately i no longer own a 14/19 or a stock prop to be able to get those dimensions for you.

Hopefully someone here on the forum can help you with that.

Jerry.. with a prop sitting flat on the table as shown above... how do i LOWER rpms?

i want to baseline my ski before i put the intercooler and whatnot in it. I'm currently at 8200 with highly overfilled oil. I want to lower 150-200 rpms i think.

I bend the trailing edge down closer to the table?

Shibb.. yes, you bend the trailing edge blade down , to git it a bit more pitch.

    Shibby,
What prop do you have on now? Is it a Solas 14/19? Care to share the measurements of the prop blades as shown in the pics above?

    John
